My Story

Marissa Heart is a 2X World Choreography Awards Nominee who has been working in the entertainment industry for over 2 decades dancing, acting, singing, and choreographing, and has been technically training since she was 2 1/2. Once she danced her way onto the stage of “Star Search” as a semi-finalist at just 9 years old - she took the dance industry by storm and never looked back. Within the first 3 months of moving to LA, she had booked her first series regular role on the Disney Channel pilot “Gagsters”. 

Marissa is now one of the industry's most sought after Heels choreographers and teachers. With over 700K followers and subscribers, Marissa's talent, style, passion for dance, and teaching shines through and her Heels videos have amassed over 25 MILLION views and counting. 

Marissa’s most recent work was choreographing a Super Bowl 2024 commercial for “Nerds Candy” featuring Addison Rae. She also choreographed the “Evolution of Dance” NFL Promo for Thursday Night Football airing on Amazon Prime.

Marissa has created her own brand, “Heartbreak Heels”, in which she choreographs, leads classes, holds workshops, and created her own group Marissa & The Heartbreakers. “Heartbreak Heels” was created to empower individuals all over the world.  

Marissa was a choreographer and competitor for Marissa & The Heartbreakers on Season 2 of NBC's “World Of Dance”. They have since then traveled to Chicago to open up Tony Robin’s “Unleash The Power Within” seminar and to Shanghai to perform in Dolce & Gabbana’s fashion show. 

Marissa has choreographed for brands such as SHEIN and Skechers, and has also choreographed multiple music videos and live shows, one of which premiered on Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules” by artist Scheana Marie.

Marissa played a significant role in NBC’s “Hairspray Live!” as Tammy, one of the Nicest Kids In Town. She also played Tara, a strong supporting role in the feature film "Breaking Through”, Executive Produced by John Legend.  

Her extensive work with numerous artists ranges from Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Chris Brown, Charlie Puth, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Michael Jackson, and Jennifer Lopez. In addition, her performances in multiple tv shows such as Glee, American Horror Story, The Voice, Grammy’s, AMA’s, Billboard Awards, Modern Family, and more have led her to desire a more expansive direction of her artistry in all facets of the entertainment industry. 

Over the years she has found a love for teaching and is currently one of PLAYGROUND LA's most popular heels instructors with weekly sold out classes. Marissa loves sharing her creations and helping artists grow and evolve - not only as dancers, but as individuals. Her goal is to inspire people to fully express themselves unapologetically. Marissa is passionate about empowering people through dance and inspires anyone who takes her classes to feel like the most confident, beautiful, and powerful version of themselves. Her storytelling and emotion through dance has impacted millions of people and is ever-growing.
